National law firm Shoosmiths has unveiled plans to merge with Archibald Campbell & Harley, a full service commercial law firm with 65 staff, based in The firm’s Founded more than 100 years’ ago and based in Queen Street, Edinburgh, Archibald Campbell & Harley advises on wide range of matters, including banking and finance, commercial property, corporate, debt recovery, dispute resolution, employment, insolvency and restructuring, and private client work. Andrew Tubbs, chairman of Shoosmiths, said: “For some time now many of our clients have been telling us that they would value Shoosmiths having a Scottish resource to provide a truly national offering. “We are already familiar with ACH, as we have been working with them for many years and have a number of mutual clients. Culturally our two firms are a good fit, and there is a crossover in practice areas, particularly real estate, retail, litigation and recoveries for lenders.” The merger is expected to take effect in September subject to completing various regulatory approvals.
